…and we are home. Jet lagged but with full hearts (and inboxes)!

Much has happened in the last few weeks, that it is difficult to know where to begin.  With that said, it will take a while for us to break it down. We will share additional blogs over the next week. I’m hoping Don will share his point of view of his time in Thailand on the Adventures in Missions trip!

To catch you up to speed – I left for Thailand on the 19th of May. Spent a day lining up last minute details and ministry then flew to Cambodia. I had the company of a good friend, Amanda Knoll – from the years spent in MI.

Cambodia happened. Four men gave their lives to Christ…as a result of seeds planted and watered by many.  They were friends of our friend, Don (my tuk-tuk driver of several years now) You can see he is excited that his friends are now serving the same King as us! Thank you for your role! Stories to come. Read what some have already written at here.

On  May 29th, I woke up ready for our last day in Cambodia, only to find out through a church-wide email that Don (who would be joining me later that day in Thailand) had been asked to move away from his position at the local church in Gainesville. Unfortunately, due to Don being released on a Tuesday and flying out on a Wednesday…and me being at Angkor Wat with no wifi or cell reception…. this was the first I had heard of the news. Don had hoped to tell me that night when I arrived and joined him in Thailand.

Although rumors could flourish in times such as these, we trust the Lord and want to honor Him as we pray and move forward. Currently, we have no clue what is next, but have peace that surpasses all.

May 31 the Thailand team arrived! Again, so many stories to share – but in the mean time, check out the Adventures’ blogs here. Five women from the red light district gave their lives to Christ! The are plugged into a wonderful ministry called Rahab. Join us in praying for transformed lives as they are discipled.

June 4th – We celebrated 20 years of marriage.  It had been 5 years since celebrating in the same country…and it was good! We snuck out early for an early coffee, a time of reminiscing, celebrating, dreaming, and praying.

The above photo was taken by friend and team member, Kristen.

If that wasn’t enough, I celebrated in the bars in Patpong. Was able to share the love of Christ while pointing at my collection of four wedding bands saying “20 years”. Their response was often “Happy?” I would respond… “Yes, very happy. Good man. Loves God. Loves people. Loves me.” When in Asia, you get to celebrate events twice. (Thanks to the time difference)

Once the team departed, we flew up to Mae Sot to visit friends Amy and Casey. Both long term missionaries…working along the Burma boarder, “no man’s land”, and the Friendship Bridge. We went hoping to encourage and bless them. I fell asleep twice while talking…and they blessed me.

We arrived home 4 days ago, and an exciting landing it was. Just prior to wheels touching the runway, we lifted off again. Circling to give it a second shot. I love a little excitement!

So there you go. You are caught up to speed on the major points.  More details to come.

Please pray for::

Both teams as they return to the US and walk thru re-entry.

I’ll be leading another Adventures team to India in July.
