“We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed.” – Brother Lawrence
Tomorrow we will be heading into our second and last Ambassador day of training camp/launch of the year! We’ve been so pleased with these two groups of participants and leaders and look forward to having the time to share more about what God is doing in and through these individuals.
There are so many stories, but the one on my heart tonight comes from the Albania team. (where my niece, Meggie is currently serving) It’s titled Intentional Time (written by Corbett Hughes) http://ambassador.adventures.org/post/intentional-time and reminds my of one of my favorite books – Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence.
It’s a great reminder that in everything we do, we are to do it for God and with great love. That means…in Albania, serving on a pig farm, painting in Puerto Rico or sorting toiletries in Chicago – do it all for the Lord. (photos by Allie Beck || Meggie Lengkeek, is on the bottom row with the black shorts – and knee braces)
Days that are full of meetings, administrative tasks, cleaning etc… and I feel that I’m having no Kingdom impact, this is a great reminder – that we are in the business in the life to please God! We are first called to love Him.
“Let us thus think often that our only business in this life is to please GOD, that perhaps all besides is but folly and vanity” – Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God
Thank you for your support and prayers … allowing Don and I to be a part of the ministries of Adventures in Missions. I hope you see the impact you are having on the lives of these high school participants and around the world. To follow the Ambassador trips and their blogs – head to http://ambassador.adventures.org/ Our leaders are doing a great job keeping it updated.
Monday morning the last teams fly out… and then the team debriefs will begin in ATL the following week.
