We’re
in beautiful Granada, Nicaragua. It’s one of AIM’s two First Year Missionary locations. The other being Jeffery’s Bay, South Africa
where we visited last year about this time.
Christian, age 18-24, who devotes a school year learning how to become a more
effective disciple of Christ through missions. This program is not an academic
study, but a practical discipleship and missions program. First Year
Missionaries are immersed in both local culture and the missionary lifestyle as
they serve Jesus Christ.
Yesterday
we joined the team and a group of guys from the Hogar Crea (a rehab program) to
distribute fliers for the program tonight. Keep the team in your prayers as they
will have the opportunity to share their testimonies. Saturday mornings are their free time to catch
up on communication back home, writing blogs, checking emails. Nicaragua has
some beautiful cafes with wifi…and this time is treasured.
In
the past few months, our department –
Next Step, has been restructuring roles. While I (Connie) loved being involved
in other areas of AIM…I must say, I’m excited about working along side Don and
a team once again. Ambassador’s name has
been changed to Real Life. Now we have Real Life High School and Real Life
College. In addition, we are the regional directors for Central and South
America….which brings me back to why we are in Nicaragua. We’ve come to learn, observe, support and give
feedback once returning to GA. We are scoping out the future possibilities,
making contacts and building relationships. The bonus to all of this is… our friends Tana and Jamie are the leaders.
(Pictured below) Please pray for both Tana and Jamie as the have the responsibility of
discipling and caring for 10 girls, 4 guys. This includes everything from accommodations,
food, ministry, teaching…and all the details that go with. Although they get “days
off'” occasionally….they are always on duty.
As
we can…we’ll update more.
Good update – thanks for the pics. Say hi to Charles, Sarah, Banks, Willow, and Heather. Also to Tana and Jamie.
The extent of what you guys do never ceases to amaze me. May God continue to keep you safe, and healthy.
Praying for you.
Good work! It sounds exciting.Keep up the good work & I will keep praying. Love, Ella
Hey guys!! WE love you both. Thanks for the update. Our prayers are with you two always.
