One of the ministry tools that our Real life and Ambassador teams use while on the mission field are drimes. Drimes are choreographed street dramas set to music. The Peru team used these dramas almost daily… during street ministry, VBS, and evening church services.

During one of the first evening services in Tumpa that we participated in was a drime set to the song “Everything” by Lifehouse. I was an observer, but what I observed was God using a group of people to communicate His message to those that needed to hear it.

The story of this particular drime is one of creation, rebellion, and redemption. The story follows God creating a young woman who is then tempted by the things of this life. She is pulled away by acceptance, image, drugs, and even tempted with thoughts of suicide. When she is at the point of giving up Jesus, the Savior comes and rescues her from all the lies that are plaguing her mind. He battles the forces of this world in order to draw his creation back to himself.

As I watched this drime, I was moved by the passion with which the team performed. As I stood in the back of the church I watched facial expressions. I could see the joy of creation, the despair brought on by rebellion, the compassion of our Lord, and the expression of pure delight that comes from restoration. I really believe that the people of Tumpa also saw this because that evening 5 people in the crowd respond and entered into a relationship with Christ.
